Tips for paper flashcards

Paper cards work well with the Leitner system: five envelopes or boxes and one rule (right answers move up, wrong ones go back to box 1). Card stock (160–200 gsm / 60–110 lb) stops answers showing through.

Write fewer words than you think; short cards are faster to review and easier to grade honestly (see how to make flashcards). And if you want paper and a schedule, keep the deck in the flashcard maker too, so the study session can tell you which cards are due.

Questions people ask

How do I print double-sided flashcards?

Choose “Double-sided”. Page 1 holds the fronts and page 2 the backs, mirrored so each answer lands behind its question. Print with “flip on long edge” (the usual duplex setting), then cut along the lines.

What size are the printed flashcards?

Pick 8 per page (about 3.5 × 2.5 in, like index cards) or 12 per page for smaller vocabulary cards. Both fit US Letter and A4.

Is there a blank flashcard template?

Yes. Choose “Blank template” to print ruled index-card outlines you can fill in by hand.

Can I print a Quizlet set?

Export the set as text from Quizlet, paste it into the box, and print. Tab, comma, semicolon and dash separators are detected automatically.
